Detailed workflow guide

Export local Phil-IRI files

Phil-IRI exports help teachers create local files such as GST class summaries, oral reading summaries, and learner profile documents after readiness checks and teacher review.

Teacher goal

What can I export from Phil-IRI, and what should I check first?

Use this guide when this is the task in front of you. Stop if the selected class, learner, role, school year, file, or output does not match.

In-app path

  1. Phil-IRI Toolkit
  2. Class Summary or learner record
  3. Export

Get ready

Check the starting point

These are the minimum conditions for the workflow to make sense.

Before you start

Estimated time: About 5–10 minutes

  • Saved local reading results
  • The intended class or learner scope
  • Time to open and inspect the exported file

You should see

The selected Phil-IRI summary or learner record exports locally and opens with the reviewed reading data.

Steps

Complete the task in order

Review choice points, save or preview behavior, and any stop condition before continuing.

    Step 1

    Choose the export area

Use GST for class result XLSX exports, Oral Reading or Class Summary for reading summaries, and Learner Profile for a local DOCX profile where supported.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Complete required reading data

Save the relevant GST, oral reading, comprehension, and learner profile details before trying to export.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Check Paid and readiness

Generated file exports need Paid where supported, and the app can still block export when required reading data is missing.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Open the generated file

After export, open the actual XLSX or DOCX file from Files or the local folder and check learner names, scores, notes, and blank fields.

  5. 5

    Step 5

Use generated history to find files later

Use Files workspace or generated history to reopen local Phil-IRI exports and confirm the file still exists before reuse.

Review

Check these before relying on the work

These checks cover saved, previewed, generated, and teacher-review states.

  • Export matches the record

The exported file should match the class, learner, date, and reading activity the teacher intends.

  • Paid access is understood

Paid may be required for generated files, but Paid does not bypass missing reading data.

  • File is reviewed

Open the actual file before using, sharing, printing, or saving it as final.

  • Privacy is protected

Export only what the teacher needs and keep files in a teacher-controlled location.

Blocked states and recovery

Fix the blocker before continuing

Use the direct recovery action when GuroAssist is waiting for setup, data, access, policy, or file readiness.

  • Reading data is incomplete

Finish and save the needed GST, oral reading, comprehension, or learner profile details first.

After recovery: The intended learner is selected and the learner-dependent action is available.

    Review roster help
  • Paid export is not available

Activate Paid where generated file export is supported.

After recovery: Paid access and any required credits are shown as available for this action.

    Open activation help
  • Generated file cannot be found

Use Files workspace, the local folder, or backups to locate the export.

After recovery: The backup or restore summary shows the intended local workspace and a clear success or recovery state.

    Open backup and restore help
  • File was not reviewed

Do not rely on an exported Phil-IRI file until the teacher opens and checks it.

After recovery: The blocker is no longer shown, and the intended next action is available for teacher review.

Safety note

Phil-IRI exports are local, non-official files for teacher review. They do not replace required reading processes and should be opened before use.

Finish

Verify the result

Do not treat a saved screen or generated filename as proof that the work is ready.

You’re done when

The selected Phil-IRI summary or learner record exports locally and opens with the reviewed reading data.
